The Loss of Fuel Prime in Some C32 Engines{1250, 1280} Caterpillar

The Loss of Fuel Prime in Some C32 Engines{1250, 1280}

Usage:

C32 B2C
Petroleum Engine:
C32 PE (S/N: B2C1-UP)

Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

A loss of prime of the fuel system can occur on some C32 engines when the primary filter and the secondary filter are relocated from the original position on the engine. The loss of the prime of the fuel system is caused by the passage of air from the primary fuel filter to the secondary fuel filter. The loss of the prime of the fuel system will cause difficulty in starting the engine.

Solution

(1) 190-8745 Base As

(2) 6V-3683 O-Ring Seal

(3) 299-1893 Water Separator and Fuel Filter As

The O-ring (2) can be applied to the filter base (1) of the primary fuel filter. The O-ring will prevent air from migrating from the primary fuel filter (3) to the secondary fuel filter.
