Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Inspect the condition of the gasket. Replace the gasket, if necessary.
- Position the gasket and cover (3) on the front housing.
- Install studs (2).
Note: Bolt (4) is a through bolt. Apply Tooling (A) to the threads prior to installation.
- Install bolt (4).
- Install bolts (1).

Note: The rear face of cover (3) and the front face of the housing must be clean.
End By:
- Install the crankshaft front seal. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Crankshaft Front Seal - Install".
- Install the fan drive mounting group. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan Drive Mounting Group - Remove and Install".
- Install the fuel transfer pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fuel Transfer Pump - Install".
