Description of Change: Issues have been reported on D series excavators concerning an error code E861. The error code is for Manual clock alignment. The error code can not be resolved. This issue causes the service light to illuminate in the cab. Performing the clock alignment in ET will not resolve the issue. The code will reappear soon after the reset of the clock is completed. The monitor clock will be one hour earlier than the ECM clock on the machine. This issue is on D series excavators that have the MSS software installed in the machine ECM that is activated with a billable password. Earlier stand-alone MSS units with a separate MSS controller do not have this issue.

The correct software is released. Updating the machine software should resolve these issues. If the error occurred, upload the software to the ECM by ET. Confirm the time setting of the appearance of the warning on the monitor. Refer to Illustration 1. Also, confirm the time setting of the appearance of code E00861. Refer to Illustration 2. If the error code E00861 is still displayed on the monitor, change the machine software to the new software. The new software is listed in Table 1. Use this software even if the time setting is correct.
