New VIMS-PC software is now available. Version 2008A is an update to all previous versions of the VIMS-PC software, but version 2008A may also serve as a new installation of the VIMS-PC application. The following versions are included in the release of version 2008A:

  • VIMS-PC software 2008A

  • Version 2.1.0 of the database

  • Version 8.0.4 of the master database

The following list contains the modifications and enhancements of VIMS-PC software 2008A:

  • Names of ASCII files were modified in order to have the same name as the raw data files.

  • Event durations in the event reports are enhanced to display "--" when VIMS cannot determine the duration of the active event.

  • The worst case values in event reports were modified in order to handle events that were active for more than one download.

  • A download of events on machines with the source code version of at least 11.0 were modified for proper downloading of files.

  • A modification was made for consistent downloading of files with the newer, faster computers that are on the market.

  • An enhancement was made for a connection with the new version of stand-alone hardware for Payload Control System (PCS).

  • A modification was made for users that are connected to a machine with a source code version equal to or greater than 11.0. This modification may allow the users to get configuration data from the machine. The user may view the data in VIMS Change Configuration (VCC), but the user will not be allowed to copy the configuration from the machine.

  • Event report was enhanced in order to display an Event Identifier Data (EID) and a Warning Category Indicator (WCI) for data events. For further information, refer to the reference that is listed above.

  • An enhancement was made for compatibility with the operating system for Microsoft Vista.
