Option keys are available to be purchased. These option keys enable additional features in the software. These option keys are purchased from your Caterpillar dealership.

Available Option Keys

The following option keys are available:

  • Wireless Communication

Option Key for Wireless Communication

AccuGrade wireless communication is an available option for the AccuGrade CD700 display. Wireless communication allows the supervisor to perform the following tasks:

  • Transmit updated design information to the machines on the site.

  • Perform basic remote diagnostics.

  • Send simple text messages to the machines.

Procedure to Purchase Option Key(s)

  1. Refer to the appropriate AccuGrade price list to order the option key for AccuGrade CD700 wireless communication.

  1. Order the key per the instructions on the price list.

  1. Record the following information:

    • Reference number for the wireless key

    • Dealer code of the dealer

    • Reference number of the order

  1. Record the serial number from the identification plate on display.

  1. Proceed to the web site: "www.techproductregistration.com".

  1. Complete the form on the web site in order to activate the option key.

    1. In the "Product Family" field, select "AccuGrade".

    1. In the "Activity Type" field, select "Option Key Activation".

    1. In the "Reason" field, select "New Install".

    1. In the "System" field, select the appropriate system for the type of display.

    1. In the "Version" field, select the version of software.

    1. In the "Display Serial Number" field, enter the serial number that is on your display.

      Note: Ensure that the serial number is entered correctly.

    1. In the "Order Number" field, enter the reference number for the order.

    1. In the "Part Number Ordered" field, enter the part number for the option key.

    1. Select your "Dealer Code" from the list.

    1. In the "Contact Name" field, enter the name of person that is receiving the registration key.

    1. In the "Phone Number" field, enter the phone number of the person that is receiving the registration key.

    1. In the "Email" field, enter the e-mail address of person that is receiving the registration key.

    1. In the "Customer Information" section, complete the following:

    1. Enter the name of the customer into the "Contact Name" field.

    1. Enter the name of the company into the "Company Name" field.

    1. Enter the phone number of the customer into the "Phone No." field.

    1. Enter the e-mail address of the customer into the "Email" field.

    1. In the "Machine Information" section, enter the following:

    1. In the "Machine Model" field, enter the model of the machine.

    1. In the "Machine Serial Number" field, enter the serial number of the machine.

    1. If access to the web site is not available, call 888-223-7539 in order to manually register the product.

  1. When the data fields are complete, select "Submit" on the form.

    You will be asked to review the data again. Review the information and select "Confirm" if the information is correct. Select "Back" in order to edit the information.

    After the form is completed, an e-mail message will be sent to the e-mail address that was entered into the form within thirty minutes. This e-mail message will have the option key that is used in order to activate the option key on the requested display. A phone call will be made to the phone number that was submitted on the form in order to confirm that the e-mail message with the option key was received. Provide the key to the appropriate person so that the key can be installed on the display. Save the information that pertains to the option key for future reference. An invoice will be sent from Antares for the purchase of the option key.

Enter Option Key(s) into the Display

Use the following procedure in order to enter the option key into the display.

  1. In order to enter service mode, hold down the "OK" key while the display powers up.

  1. Press the "Setup Menu" key.

  1. Press the "Installation" soft key. A screen that is similar to Illustration 1 appears.

  1. Use the arrow keys in order to select "Software Support Option".

  1. Press the "OK" key.

  1. Perform one of the two options below:

    • Copy the file for the option key to the root folder of a data card. Insert the data card. The display will read the key.

    • Enter the option key that was obtained. The option key is 24 characters. Use the arrow keys on the display to enter the key. Press the "OK" key.

    If the procedure is successful, the "Option Keys File Loaded" dialog appears. This dialog indicates that one option key has been loaded successfully.

  1. Press the "OK" key.

    The plan view appears.

    Note: If the key does not activate, verify that the key was entered correctly. Verify that the serial number that is located on the identification plate of the display is identical to the electronic serial number.
