Extendable Stick - Remove and Install

- Remove the bucket.
- Remove the bucket linkage.
- Remove the bucket cylinder.
- Fully extend the extendable stick and place the stick on Tooling (A) .

- Release the pressure in the hydraulic system.
- Position hose assemblies and bracket (1) aside. Repeat for the opposite side.

- Disconnect bracket and hose assemblies (2) , then position onto the boom.

- Remove cover (3) .

- Place suitable cribbing (5) under the rod end of extendable stick cylinder (4) .

- Remove pin (6) . Remove suitable cribbing (5) . Fully retract the extendable stick cylinder.
- Install pin (7) that held the head end of the bucket cylinder. Install retaining ring (8) that holds pin (7) into position. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to extendable stick (10) . The weight of extendable stick (10) is approximately 170 kg (375 lb). Loosen bolts (9) in order to loosen the wear pads. Remove bolts (13) and (14) . Remove block assembly (12) and pad assembly (11) (not shown).

- Remove bolts (15) from the top of the extendable stick.

- Remove extendable stick (10) . Pad (16) will remain with the stick.

- Use Tooling (C) in order to remove bearings (17) .

Installation Procedure
- Install extendable stick (10) in the reverse order of removal.
- Lower the temperature of bearings (17) . Use Tooling (D) in order to install bearings (7) .
- Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, " Extendable Stick Pads- Inspect/Adjust" for the correct procedure to adjust the extendable stick pads.
- Apply Tooling (E) to bolts (14) .
- Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 50 ± 10 N·m (37 ± 7 lb ft).
