Introduction

This publication contains the information for installation of the Axle Oil Cooler. A complete listing of the parts that are contained in this kit are listed in the Parts Manual, SEBC1514. This supplemental product support literature should be used with the appropriate Service Manual and the appropriate Parts Manual that is available for this standard machine.

Do not perform any procedure and do not order parts that are outlined in this publication until you understand the information that is contained in this document.

  1. Locate the following parts and weld the following parts onto the rear frame:

Installation of the oil cooler lines

Note: Visually inspect the axle housings for one of the following conditions:

Condition 1: The axle oil cooler lines have been installed. The axle oil cooler lines that are included in the kit may be discarded. Only the balance of the kit needs to be installed.

Condition 2: The axle oil cooler lines have not been installed. The axles will need to be removed. The complete axle oil cooler lines must be installed.

    Note: The following Steps are for the front axle housing.

  1. Install one 193-8606 Grommet (1) in each end of the front axle housing.

    Note: Lubricate the seals lightly with the axle oil that is used in the front axle housing.

  1. Install 7M-8485 O-Ring Seal (9) on the 125-0966 Plug (4). Install 125-0966 Plug (4) into the hole on the left hand side of the front axle housing.

  1. Place 193-5444 Tube As (2) in the front axle housing.

  1. Install 1H-8171 O-Ring Seal (8) over the end of the tube.

  1. Install 8T-5439 Washer (5) over the end of the tube.

  1. Install 6V-9169 Bulkhead Nut (7) on the end of the tube. Tighten to 105 ± 10 N·m (77.4 ± 7.4 lb ft).

  1. Install 7M-8485 O-Ring Seal (9) on the 125-0966 Plug (4). Place 125-0966 Plug (4) into the hole on the right hand side of the front axle housing.

  1. Place 193-5445 Tube As (3) in the front axle housing.

  1. Install 1H-8171 O-Ring Seal (8) over the end of the tube.

  1. Install 8T-5439 Washer (5) over the end of the tube.

  1. Install 6V-9169 Bulkhead Nut (7) on the end of the tube. Tighten to 105 ± 10 N·m (77.4 ± 7.4 lb ft).

  1. Install the 148-8370 Elbow Gp (28) on the left hand side of the front axle housing. Do not tighten.

  1. Connect the 196-3858 Tube As (4) to the 148-8370 Elbow Gp (28). Do not tighten.

  1. Connect the 148-8451 Tee As (31) to the 196-3858 Tube As (4). Do not tighten.

  1. Connect the 206-6968 Tube As (21) to the 148-8451 Tee As (31). Do not tighten.

  1. Connect the 206-6968 Tube As (21) to the right hand side of the front axle housing. Do not tighten.

  1. Use the following hardware in order to secure 196-3858 Tube As (4) and secure 203-6968 Tube As (21) to the front axle housing but do not tighten bolts:

  1. Tighten the nut that is on the 148-8370 Elbow Gp (28). Refer to Illustration 7.

  1. Tighten the nut that is on the 203-6968 Tube As (4) to the front axle housing. Refer to Illustration 7.

  1. Tighten the nuts on 148-8451 Tee As (31). Refer to Illustration 7.

  1. Tighten the 8T-4137 Bolts (58). Refer to Illustration 7.

    Note: The following Steps are for the rear axle housing.

  1. Install one 193-8606 Grommet (1) in each end of the rear axle housing.

    Note: Lubricate seals lightly with the axle oil that is used in the rear axle housing.

  1. Install 6V-8398 O-Ring Seal (6) and 7M-8485 O-Ring Seal (9) onto the 195-5847 Elbow (20) and into left side of the rear axle housing. Do not tighten.

  1. Place 193-5446 Tube As (18) into the rear axle housing. Connect the tube assembly (18) to elbow (20). Do not tighten.

  1. Install 6V-8398 O-Ring Seal (6) and 7M-8485 O-Ring Seal (9) onto the 195-5847 Elbow (20) into right side of rear axle housing. Do not tighten.

  1. Place 193-5447 Tube As (19) into the rear axle housing. Connect the tube assembly (19) to elbow (20). Do not tighten.

  1. Install 204-7806 Bracket (14) on the rear trunnion. Use the existing trunnion mounting bolts in order to mount the bracket. Tighten the bolts to 530 ± 70 N·m (390 ± 50 lb ft).

  1. Loosely connect the 205-7131 Tube As (18) to the right side 195-5847 Elbow (20). Refer to Illustration 9.

  1. Loosely connect 148-8451 Tee As (31) to 205-7131 Tube As (18) .

  1. Loosely connect 204-7435 Tube As (12) to 148-8451 Tee As (31). Loosely connect the other end of 204-7435 Tube As (12) to the left side 195-5847 Elbow (20). Refer to Illustration 9.

  1. Use the following hardware in order to secure 204-7435 Tube As (12) to bracket (14) but do not tighten bolt (57) :

  1. Tighten the nuts that are on 195-5847 Elbows (20). Refer to Illustration 9.

  1. Tighten the nut that is on 193-5446 Tube As (18). Refer to Illustration 9.

  1. Tighten the nut that is on 193-5447 Tube As (19). Refer to Illustration 9.

  1. Tighten the nut that is on 205-7131 Tube As (18) that is connected to 195-5847 Elbow (20). Refer to Illustration 9.

  1. Tighten the nut that is on 204-7435 Tube As (12) that is connected to 195-5847 Elbow (20). Refer to illustration 9.

  1. Tighten both nuts that are on 148-8451 Tee As (31) .

  1. Use the following hardware to install the two 203-8657 Brackets (4) :

  1. Install four 148-8442 Tees (7) .

  1. Install two 9X-2538 Elbows (1) .

  1. Install two 148-8392 Elbow Gp (6) .

  1. Install two 130-5202 Check Valves (2). Refer to Illustration 10 for orientation of the check valves.

  1. Install two 204-8744 Hose As (5) .

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 200-4169 Axle Oil Cooler As (3) onto the two 203-8657 Brackets (4) :

    Note: The following Steps are used to assemble the brackets to the pump.

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 197-8000 Bracket (7) :

    Note: Tighten the two 8T-4196 Bolts (24) to 60 ± 12 N·m (44.25 ± 8.85 lb ft).

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 197-7999 Bracket (6) :

    Note: The Two 9X-8256 Washers (20A) go on the bolt head side of the bolt.

    Note: Tighten the two 5C-2890 Nuts (16) to 12 ± 3 N·m (8.8507 ± 2.2127 lb ft).

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 206-0065 Plate (10) :

    Note: The Two 9X-8256 Washers (20A) go on the bolt head side of the bolt.

    Note: Tighten the two 5C-2890 Nuts (16) to 12 ± 3 N·m (8.8507 ± 2.2127 lb ft).

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 153-5741 Strap (3) :

    Note: Do not tighten the 8T-4195 Bolt (23) .

    Note: Use shims (A) to achieve clearance (B) between the rotor assembly (C) and the armature assembly (D) .

  1. Use the following hardware in order to install 168-6452 Electric Clutch (5) :

  1. Use the following hardware in order to fasten the wiring connector (E) to 197-8000 Bracket (7) :

    Note: Tighten the 8T-4136 Bolt (22) to 60 ± 12 N·m (44.25 ± 8.85 lb ft).

  1. Install two 148-8388 Elbow Gp (29) onto the axle oil cooler pump. See Illustration 13 for placement of the two 148-8388 Elbow Gp .

  1. Install two 148-8362 Elbow Gp (27) onto the axle oil cooler pump. See Illustration14 for placement of 148-8362 Elbow Gp .

  1. Remove the existing support from the engine. Discard support and bolts.

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 204-3439 Support (9) :

    Note: The following Steps are for mounting the axle oil cooler pump.

  1. Remove the existing crankshaft pulley.

  1. Use four 7X-0345 Bolts (18) and install the 204-0136 Pulley (8) .

  1. Use the following hardware in order to install 215-3013 Gear Pump (4) but do not tighten 7X-0339 Bolt (17) .

  1. Use the following hardware in order to fasten 153-5741 Strap (3) to the engine block but do not tighten 9X-8879 Bolt (27) :

  1. Install 5L-3834 V-Belt (1) .

  1. Use Tooling (A) in order to adjust the tension on the 1N-3743 V-Belt (1) .

    Note: Use a Kent Moore BT-3397 Gauge to check the tension of V-belt. The correct tension for a new belt is 578 ± 111 N (129.94 ± 24.95 lb). The correct tension for a used V-belt is 445 ± 44 N (100.040 ± 9.89 lb). The used V-belt tension is for a belt that has been active over 30 minutes at rated speed.

    Note: To break in the clutch during testing, cycle the clutch twenty times.

  1. Remove existing hydraulic oil cooler hose (A) and three existing clips (B).

  1. Connect the ninety degree coupling on two 284-5454 Hose As (10) to the two 148-8388 Elbow Gp (29) in Illustration 13.

  1. Connect the other end of the two 284-5454 Hose As (10) onto the axle oil cooler. Refer to Illustration 18.

  1. Refer to Section "U-U" that is in Illustration 18. Use the following hardware to secure the rear 284-5454 Hose As (10) onto the water lines group at Section "U-U":

  1. Install a 148-8360 Elbow Gp (26) onto the left end of the axle oil cooler.

  1. Connect the straight end of 243-1132 Hose As (11) onto the 148-8360 Elbow Gp (26) that is on the left end of the axle oil cooler.

  1. Connect the other end of the 243-1132 Hose As (11) onto the tee for the hydraulic oil cooler. Refer to Illustration 17.

  1. Refer to Section "V-V" that is in Illustration 18. Use the following hardware to secure the 243-1132 Hose As (11) at Section "V-V":

  1. Connect the ninety degree end of the 243-1132 Hose As (27) onto the hydraulic oil cooler tube.

  1. Install a 148-8360 Elbow Gp (26) onto the right end of the axle oil cooler.

  1. Connect the other end of the 243-1132 Hose As (27) onto the 148-8360 Elbow Gp (26) on the right end of the axle oil cooler.

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 205-8113 Bracket (19) :

  1. Install a 148-8323 Connector (33) in each end of the 251-6351 Magnetic Filter (3) .

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 251-6351 Magnetic Filter (3) :

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 205-3611 Plate (17) :

  1. Use the 6V-9172 Nut (49) and install the 164-5577 Elbow Gp (35) into the 205-3611 Plate (17) .

  1. Use the 2P-1293 Bulkhead Locknut (37) and install the 148-8455 Union Gp (32) into the 205-3611 Plate (17) .

  1. Connect the forty five degree end of the 304-8284 Hose As (8) onto the 164-5577 Elbow Gp (35) that was installed in Step 16.

  1. Use one 1S-2067 Clip (50) to secure the 304-8284 Hose As (8) onto the frame.

  1. Refer to Section "AD-AD" that is in Illustration 20. Use the following hardware to secure the 304-8284 Hose As (8) at Section "AD-AD":

  1. Refer to Section "AE-AE" that is in Illustration 20. Use the following hardware to secure the 304-8284 Hose As (8) at Section "AE-AE":

  1. Connect the ninety degree end of the 196-9829 Hose As (13) onto the tee that is on the front of the rear axle.

  1. Connect the other end of the 196-9829 Hose As (13) and the 148-8392 Elbow As (33) onto the axle oil cooler.

  1. Refer to Sections "AA-AA" and "K-K" that are in Illustration 22. Use the following hardware to secure the 196-9829 Hose As (13) :

  1. Connect the straight end of the 304-8286 Hose As (15) onto the magnetic filter.

  1. Connect the other end of the 304-8286 Hose As (15) onto the front of the rear axle.

  1. Refer to Section "M-M" in Illustration 23. Use the following hardware to secure the 304-8286 Hose As (15) in two places at Section "M-M":

  1. Refer to Section "T-T" in Illustration 23. Use the following hardware to secure the 304-8286 Hose As (15) at Section "T-T":

  1. Install a 148-8323 Connector (33) in each end of the 251-6351 Magnetic Filter (3) .

  1. Use the following hardware to install the 213-2432 Bracket (22) in Section "DD" in Illustration 24:

  1. Connect one end of the 304-8281 Hose As (5) onto the bulkhead fitting.

  1. Connect the other end of the 304-8282 Hose As (7) onto the tee that is on the front axle.

  1. Refer to Section "D-D" in Illustration 24. Use the following hardware to secure the 304-8281 Hose As (5) and the 304-8282 Hose As (7) at Section "D-D":

  1. Refer to Area "E" in Illustration 24. Use the following hardware to secure the 304-8283 Hose As (6) and the 304-8282 Hose As (7) at Area "E":

    Note: If the machine has ride control, the following Step should also be done.

  1. Remove existing bolts and washers and use the following hardware in order to install the 267-2174 Bracket As (1) onto the front of the rear axle housing:

  1. Remove the existing bolts and washers and use the following hardware in order to install the 280-2706 Guard As (5) onto the 267-2174 Bracket As (1). Refer to Illustration 28.
