The new 303-9933 Fuel Strainer As is available for the replacement of the former 241-2295 Strainer in the fuel tank. The float in the new fuel strainer assembly is located inside the body of the strainer. The new fuel strainer assembly prevents the interference between the float in the strainer and the float for the fuel level sensor. The level of the fuel in the tank may be displayed incorrectly if the float for the fuel level sensor interferes with the float in the strainer.

Check the float for the fuel level sensor if the fuel level is displayed incorrectly on the monitor. Replace the fuel level sensor with a new fuel level sensor if the float for the sensor is damaged. If you replace the fuel tank, then ensure that the new part is installed on the fuel tank. Install a new fuel strainer assembly in order to prevent the damage from occurring on the float for the new fuel level sensor.

Procedure for the Replacement of the Fuel Level Sensor and the Fuel Strainer Assembly

Procure the parts that are listed in Table 1.

Empty the fuel tank.

Disconnect connector (A) for the fuel level sensor. Remove screws (B) and the level sensor. Determine if the float for the sensor is damaged.

If you replace the fuel tank, then ensure that the new part is installed on the fuel tank. If the former fuel level sensor is installed on the fuel tank, then replace it with the new fuel level sensor. Install a new fuel strainer assembly in order to prevent the damage from occurring on the float for the new fuel level sensor.
