Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin. |
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses and on all hose assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss, and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
- Lower the blade to the ground.

Illustration 1 g01482453 - Remove bolts (3), retainer (1), and pin (2). Repeat this step for the remaining link.
- Start the engine. Retract the lift cylinder rods.
- Stop the engine.
- Remove the stabilizer link. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Stabilizer Link - Remove and Install".
- Release the system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".

73 kg (160 lb) . - Remove bolts (6), bearing cap (7), and two shims (8) (not shown) from push arm (5).
- Repeat Steps 8 through 10 for the remaining push arm (5) on the opposite side of the machine.
