Foreign objects are objects that are not permitted in the drive train. The foreign objects can damage components in the drive train. The reuse and salvage guideline has been updated with the information on damage to components that is caused by foreign objects. When you repair the drive train, refer to Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8193, 29 October 2007, "Reusability of Drive Train Gears" for reuse information on damage to components that is caused by foreign objects. In order to detect damage to a gear that is caused by a foreign object, use one of the following methods that are covered in Reuse and Salvage Guidelines, SEBF8193, 29 October 2007, "Inspection Methods".
