Description of Change: The new valve cover base uses a seal that is pressed in place. The seal improves the sealing capability.
Adaptable To: The 283-0238 Valve Mechanism Cover Base is a direct replacement of the 238-6740 Base. 272-0389 Seal must be used with the 283-0238 Valve Mechanism Cover Base. The 283-0238 Valve Mechanism Cover Base is adaptable to the above listed engines.
