Truck Hitch Control (1) (If Equipped)

Open for the Truck Hitch Control - Move and hold the switch upward in order to open the truck hitch. This will allow a truck to back up to the paver.

Close for the Truck Hitch Control - Move and hold the switch downward in order to close the truck hitch. This will lock the truck to the paver.

Note: When the switch is released, the switch will return to the middle center position. The hitch will remain in the last position.

Hopper Hoist Control (2)

Hopper Hoist Control (Raise) - Move the switch upward in order to raise the hopper wings.

Hopper Hoist Control (Lower) - Move the switch downward in order to lower the hopper wings.

Note: When the switch is released, the switch will return to the center position. The hopper wings will remain in the last selected position.

Front Hopper Hoist Control 3 (If Equipped)

Front Hopper Hoist Control (Raise) - Move and hold the switch upward in order to raise the front hopper.

Front Hopper Hoist Control (Lower) - Move and hold the switch downward in order to lower the front hopper.

Note: When the switch is released, the switch will return to the center position. The front hopper will remain in the last selected position.

Operator's Display Screen (4)

Please refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Monitoring System" for a detailed description of the operator's display screen.

Parking Brake (5)

Parking Brake - The parking brake switch is a two-position switch. To engage the brake, push on the switch. The switch will light in order to show the operator that the brake is engaged. To disengage the brake, pull the switch.

Note: The parking brake on both operator stations must be disengaged in order to operate the machine.

Operator Station Selection Switch (6)

Operator Station Selection Switch - Move the switch to the left in order to activate the left operator control station. Move the switch to the right in order to activate the right operator control station. Indicator light (7) will illuminate for the active control station.

Operator Station Indicator Light (7)

This light will illuminate when the operator station is activated. In order to switch the active operator station, use switch (6).

Warning Beacon Switch (8)

On - Push the switch upward in order to turn on the rotating warning beacon. The warning beacon should be in the ON position at all times when you operate the machine at night.

Off - Push the switch downward in order to turn off the rotating warning beacon.

Indicator Light (9)

The indicator light (9) will illuminate whenever the warning beacon switch (8) is in the ON position.

Work Lights (10)

On - Push the switch upward in order to turn on the work lights. When the work lights are illuminated, the dash panel lights (16) will illuminate. Use the work lights whenever you are paving at night. Use the work lights in areas with poor lighting.

Off - Push the switch downward to the OFF position in order to turn off the work lights.

Propel Lever (11)

Propel Lever - The propel lever controls the direction and speed of the paver. Move the propel lever upward in order to move the paver forward. Move the propel lever downward in order to move the paver in reverse. Move the propel lever to the center NEUTRAL position in order to stop the paver. After the machine comes to a stop, the machine will apply the parking brake.

Engine Speed Control Switch (12)

Engine Speed Control Switch - The engine speed control switch sets the operating speed of the engine.

Fast for the Throttle - Move the switch upward in order to increase the engine speed to high idle. When you hold the switch upward, the engine speed will slowly increase. Release the switch when the desired engine speed has been reached.

Slow for the Throttle - Move the switch downward in order to decrease the engine speed to low idle. When you hold the switch downward, the engine speed will slowly decrease. Release the switch when the desired speed has been reached.

Note: When you release the switch, the engine speed control switch returns to the center position.

Maximum Propel Speed Potentiometer (13)

Maximum Propel Speed Potentiometer - The potentiometer sets the maximum speed when the propel lever is set to the farthest forward position. The potentiometer must be set above the minimum setting in order for the machine to move. The potentiometer allows the operator to maintain a constant speed when the operator stops the machine and the operator starts the machine. The constant speed will help create an even mat thickness.

Travel/Pave/Maneuver Speed Control (14)

------ WARNING! ------

Unexpected parking brake application may occur going down ≥6% slopes in TRAVEL mode. Operate the machine in PAVE mode while travelling down slopes. Failure to follow these instructions could result in an overspeed condition, loss of control and/or sudden stopping by the secondary (emergency) braking system which could cause serious injury or death.



NOTICE

When changing speed with the Travel/Pave/Maneuver Speed Selector Switch, the machine must be stopped and the propel lever must be placed in the NEUTRAL position.


Travel Control - Move the switch into the TRAVEL position in order to travel at higher speeds.

Paving Control - Move the switch into the PAVE position in order to travel at slower speeds for paving.

Maneuver Control - Move the switch into the MANEUVER position in order to maneuver the machine in a confined place.

Note: Maneuver mode allows the machine to turn within a small radius at PAVE speed. In order to avoid losing control of the machine, choose a low speed setting with the propel control.

Move the switch into the PAVE position for all paving and most travel speeds.

Front Wheel Assist (15) (If Equipped)

Push the switch upward in order to activate the front wheel assist. Push the switch downward in order to disable the front wheel assist OFF.

Display Panel Lights (16)

The display panel's lights will illuminate when the work light switch (10) is in the ON position. The display panel's lights will help illuminate the active operator station.

Generator Control (17)

Generator Control - The generator control activates the generator for the machine. The generator supplies power for the auxiliary outlets on the left side of the machine. The generator also supplies power for the electric screed.

Enabled - Move the switch upward in order to enable the generator.

Disabled - Move the switch downward in order to disable the generator.

Note: The generator and the engine are tied into the same system. When the generator control (17) is ENABLED, the engine RPM will increase to 1250 RPM.

Screed's Vibratory Control Switch (18)

Screed's Vibratory Control Switch - Move the switch upward in order to turn the vibratory control switch to the automatic position. The screed's vibration will operate in conjunction with the operating mode selector.

Auger Reverse Switch (19)

Auger Reverse Switch - This switch will reverse the direction of the auger. Only one auger can be reversed at a time. In order for the auger to be reversed, the auger control must be set to the AUTO position. Move the switch for the auger reverse to the LEFT position in order to reverse the direction of the left auger. Move the switch for the auger reverse to the RIGHT position in order to reverse the direction of the right auger. When the switch is released, the switch will return to the NEUTRAL position.

Screed Counterbalance Control (20)

On - Move the switch upward in order to turn on the screed counterbalance system.

Off - Move the switch downward in order to turn off the screed counterbalance system.

Screed Hoist Control (21)

Raise - Lift the switch and move the switch upward in order to raise the screed. The switch is a momentary switch. You must continue to hold the switch upward in order to raise the screed. When you release the switch from the raise position, the switch will automatically return to the locked position.

Locked - Move the switch to the center position in order to lock the screed in place.

Float - Lift the switch and move the switch downward in order to lower the screed. The screed is free to follow the contour of the ground in the float position. The screed will continue to follow the ground's contour until you move the switch to either the raise or the locked position.

Note: Move the screed hoist control to the LOCKED position before you turn off the machine. If you fail to move the screed hoist control to the LOCKED position an error message will appear. You must reset the screed to the LOCKED position before starting the machine.

Note: If the machine is equipped with mainframe extensions see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Auger Position" for the proper adjustment procedure for the augers.

Note: The screed hoist control on the secondary control panel must also be in the float position in order for the screed to follow the contour of the ground.

Right Auger Control Switch (22)

Right Auger Control Switch

Off - Move the switch to the center position in order to turn off the right auger. The auger will no longer rotate.

Automatic - Move the switch upward in order to turn on the automatic operation of the right auger. The auger's rate of rotation is determined from the feeder control sensor's signal.

Manual - Hold the switch downward in order to turn on the manual operation of the right auger. When you select the manual position, the auger will rotate at the maximum speed.

Right Screed Width Control (23)

------ WARNING! ------

Sudden movement of the powered screed extender could crush a person in this area causing serious injury or death. Stay out of this area during machine operation.


Right Screed Width Control - Move and hold the switch to the right in order to extend the right screed extension. Move and hold the switch to the left in order to bring in the right screed extension. When the switch is released, the switch will return to the center position and the right screed extension will stop moving.

Left Screed Width Control (24)

------ WARNING! ------

Sudden movement of the powered screed extender could crush a person in this area causing serious injury or death. Stay out of this area during machine operation.


Left Screed Width Control - Move and hold the switch to the left in order to extend the left screed extension. Move and hold the switch to the right in order to bring in the left screed's extension. When the switch is released, the switch will return to the center position and the left screed extension will stop moving.

Left Auger Control Switch (25)

Off - Move the switch to the center position in order to turn off the left auger. The auger will no longer rotate.

Automatic - Hold the switch upward in order to turn on the automatic operation of the left auger. The auger's rate of rotation is determined from the sonic feeder control sensor's signal.

Manual - Hold the switch downward in order to turn on the manual operation of the left auger. When you select the manual position, the auger will rotate at the maximum speed.

Auger's Height Control (26)

Auger's Height Control - Move the switch upward in order to raise the auger. Move the switch downward in order to lower the auger.

Note: If the machine is equipped with mainframe extensions see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Auger Position" for the proper adjustment procedure for the augers.

Note: When you release the switch, the switch will return to the center position. The auger will remain at the last selected position.

Right Conveyor System Control (27)

Right Conveyor System Control

Off - Move the switch to the center position in order to turn off the right conveyor. The right conveyor will no longer rotate.

Automatic - Move the switch upward in order to turn on the automatic operation of the right conveyor. The conveyor's rate of rotation is determined from the sonic feeder control sensor's signal.

Manual - Move the switch downward in order to turn on the manual operation of the right conveyor. When you select the manual position, the conveyor will rotate at the maximum speed.

Left Conveyor System Control (28)

Left Conveyor System Control

Off - Move the switch to the center position in order to turn off the left conveyor. The left conveyor will no longer rotate.

Automatic - Move the switch upward in order to turn on the automatic operation of the left conveyor. The conveyor's rate of rotation is determined from the sonic feeder control sensor's signal.

Manual - Move the switch downward in order to turn on the manual operation of the left conveyor. When you select the manual position, the conveyor will rotate at the maximum speed.

Conveyor Reverse Switch (29)

Conveyor Reverse Switch - Move and hold the switch upward in order to reverse the rotation of the conveyors.

Note: When the switch is released, the switch will return to the OFF position. The conveyors will return to work in the previously selected mode.

Note: In order for the conveyors to be reversed, the left and right conveyor system controls must be set to the AUTO position.

Left Conveyor Speed Ratio Control (30)

Left Conveyor Speed Ratio Control - The left conveyor speed ratio control is used by the operator in order to control the speed of the left conveyor in relation to the left auger. When the left conveyor system control (28) is in the AUTO position, the dial for the left conveyor speed ratio control regulates the speed of the left conveyor. Turning the potentiometer clockwise will increase the speed of the left conveyor. Turning the potentiometer counterclockwise will decrease the speed of the left conveyor.

Right Conveyor Speed Ratio Control (31)

Right Conveyor Speed Ratio Control - The right conveyor speed ratio control is used by the operator in order to control the speed of the right conveyor in relation to the right auger. When the right conveyor system control (27) is in the AUTO position, the dial for the right conveyor speed ratio control regulates the speed of the right conveyor. Turning the potentiometer clockwise will increase the speed of the right conveyor. Turning the potentiometer counterclockwise will decrease the speed of the right conveyor.
