Assembly Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- If the bearings were removed from housing assembly (1), replace the old bearings with new bearings. When the pinion bearing is being installed, press the bearing until the bearing is flush with the top of the counterbore.
Note: Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "General Information (Reference Material)" for more information.

- Install coupling (7) .
- Install pinion (9) into housing assembly (1) .
- Install thrust washer (5) and bolts (6) that hold the thrust washer in place.
- If necessary, install gear (2) on shaft assembly (8) .
- Install shaft assembly (8) in housing assembly (1) .
- Install thrust washer (3) and bolts (4) .
End By: Install the governor drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Governor Drive - Install".
