Caterpillar announces the 277-2362 Transmission Analyzer III Group. This tool serves as an interface between a transmission test bench and a personal computer.

The 277-2362 Transmission Analyzer III Group performs tests on the following transmissions:

    • Power Shift planetary and Power Shift countershaft transmissions

    • Individual clutch Modulation (ICM) transmissions

    • Challenger transmissions

    • H and M Series Motor Grader transmissions

    • Electronic Clutch Pressure Control (ECPC) transmissions

The transmission analyzer III group performs the following tests:

    • tests the proportional valves that are used to control the transmissions

    • performs automatic or manual testing for shorted or open coils on all solenoids

    • shifts the transmissions

    • determines if the shift levers, for transmissions which are not controlled by autoshift electronic controls, are functioning correctly

The transmission analyzer III group uses PC based software for accurate control during testing. Easy to use software provides a step by step sequence for testing. The software also allows control with a mouse or by the keyboard.

The approach allows software downloads into the tool in order to add diagnostics for future transmission products. The transmission analyzer III group uses a USB cable for easy connection to the PC.
