(1) Apply 154-9731 Thread Lock Compound to stud serration and both sides of gasket before assembly.
(2) Torque for the drain plug ... 55 ± 14 N·m (41 ± 10 lb ft)
(3) The front face of the flywheel housing and the rear face of the cylinder block must be free of oil, fuel, water, dirt and any other contaminants during assembly.

(4) The pipe plug must not protrude above the surface after assembly.
(5) Apply a continuous bead of 4C-9612 Silicone Sealant immediately prior to assembling the flywheel housing. After assembly of the flywheel housing, remove any excess sealant from the flange with a straight edge.

Tightening sequence |
Use the following procedure to tighten the bolts for the flywheel housing:
- Tighten bolts (1) through bolts (17) in a numerical sequence.
Torque ... 40 ± 10 N·m (30 ± 7 lb ft)
- Again tighten bolts (1) through bolts (8) in a numerical sequence.
Torque ... 135 ± 20 N·m (100 ± 15 lb ft)
- Again tighten bolts (9) through bolts (17) in a numerical sequence.
Torque ... 55 ± 10 N·m (41 ± 7 lb ft)
