Service Magazine, SEPD0875, 12 February 2007, "The Steering Column Is Improved". Disregard the existing article. Refer to the following information.

Description of Change: The steering column is improved on the listed machines. The improved steering column has a new design for the bracket with thicker bushings and thicker pivot bolts. The improved bracket is a single, formed bracket that is welded to the steering column. This improved bracket will also maintain the alignment of the pivot point. This improvement will reduce any side-to-side end play in the steering column. Refer to Table 1 for the replacement part numbers.

Modifying the Housing Assembly

This instruction is for modifying the existing housing assembly on the 924G, 938G II and IT38G II. This modification will allow the needed room for the stops on the 280-6837 Adjustable Steering Column Gp .

Not all of the housing assemblies have been trimmed in order to fit the new steering column. The mechanic will need to check for notches in the existing housings if the 201-4825 Steering Column Gp is replaced by the 280-6837 Adjustable Steering Column Gp .

Follow the instructions that are listed below, if the housing has not been trimmed.
