Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Position oil filter base assembly (7). Secure oil filter base assembly (7) with bolts (6)

Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
- Install the elements and filter housings (1).
Note: Use a 1 1/2 inch 6-point socket to install filter housings (1). Do not use an air wrench to install filter housings (1). Tighten filter housings (1) to a torque of
75 ± 5 N·m (55 ± 4 lb ft) . Turn filter housings (1) 1/4 turn counter clockwise. Turn filter housings (1) 1/4 turn clockwise. - Install plugs (2).
