The board for the SKiip Interface (SKI) is a signal conditioning board that provides the gate signals that are sent by the APC system controller to the inverter modules. The SKI sends a current feedback signal and a status signal from the inverter module to the APC controller. Each inverter module in the system is connected to a Inverter Interface SKI.

SMS 150 Inverter Module (5) SKiiP Interface board |
The SMS 150 contains two SKiip Interface boards. One connected to the front of each of utility inverters and flywheel inverters.
Removal Procedure for the SMS 150
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

Electrostatic discharge can damage integrated circuits or semiconductors if you touch bus connector pins. When not in use, keep the module in its static-shield bag. Follow these guidelines when you handle any module: Touch a grounded object to discharge static potential. Wear an approved wrist-strap grounding device. Do not touch the bus connector or connector pins. Do not touch circuit components inside the module. If available, use a static-safe work station. |
- Disconnect all connectors from the board. Verify the labeling on each connector with the location of the connector.
- Disconnect the eight white plastic standoffs that connect the board to the inverter module.
Compress the head of each standoff so that the board is not locked, but the board is still attached to the standoff.
- Remove the board. Place the board in an anti-static bag.
