Location of the DC Interface Board |
The DC Interface Board (DCI) (1) provides a feedback signal for the bus voltage to the controller. The DCI (1) provides two signals that are proportional to the positive DC bus voltages and negative DC bus voltages. The proportional signals are read by the Active Power Controller. The DCI (1) is located on the top right panel of the cabinet for the flywheel.
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
NOTICE |
---|
Electrostatic discharge can damage integrated circuits or semiconductors if you touch bus connector pins. When not in use, keep the module in its static-shield bag. Follow these guidelines when you handle any module: Touch a grounded object to discharge static potential. Wear an approved wrist-strap grounding device. Do not touch the bus connector or connector pins. Do not touch circuit components inside the module. If available, use a static-safe work station. |
- Disconnect all connectors. Refer to Illustration 2. Verify each label for each connector for subsequent installation.
- Disconnect the four white plastic standoffs that connect the board (1) to the left panel.
Note: The DCI (1) must be removed from the standoffs without bending the board.
- Compress the head of each standoff so that the board (1) is not locked, but the board is still attached to the standoff.
- Remove the board (1) from all standoffs at the same time.

- Position the board (1) in the cabinet over the four white standoffs that are connected to the left panel.
- Push the board (1) onto all the standoffs simultaneously. Verify that all standoffs are locked in place.
- Connect the wire connectors into the correct connectors on the board (1). Check the labels on each connector for proper placement. Refer to Illustration 2.
- Calibrate the DC Bus Voltage. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "DC Bus Voltage - Calibrate".
