(1) Contactor "K1" (2) Contactor "K2"

Contactor "K1" and Contactor "K2" are located on the left panel of the cabinet for the flywheel. Contactor "K1" is the input contactor for the AC power to the cabinet and from the cabinet. Contactor "K2" is the output contactor for the AC power to the cabinet and from the cabinet.

Removal Procedure

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

Connections for the Bolt "K1" (3) Cable Bolts (4) Mounting Screws (5) Mounting Bolts F1-F3 (6) Fuses F1-F3

1. Disconnect the bolts (3) for the cable from the top of the contactor.

   Note: Perform step 2 for removal of the contactor "K1" (1).

2. Disconnect the bolts (5) for the fuse mount bus bar from the bottom of the contactor. Refer to Illustration 2.

3. Disconnect the coiled wire "A1". Disconnect the coiled wire "A2". The connections are located at the top of the contactor.

4. Disconnect the two 10 AWG wires. The wires are located at the bottom of the connector.

5. Disconnect the auxiliary input connector "13" from the left side of the contactor. Disconnect the auxiliary input connector "14" from the left side of the contactor.

6. Remove the four screws (4) that connect the contactor to the left panel.

7. Remove the contactor from the cabinet.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the contactor on the left panel. Refer to Illustration 1 for placement.

2. Attach the contactor to the left panel with the four screws "4". Refer to Illustration 2.

3. Attach the cables to the top and to the bottom of the contactor with six bolts (3).

4. Tighten the bolts (3) to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

5. Connect the auxiliary input connector "13" to the left side of the contactor. Connect the auxiliary input connector "14" to the left side of the contactor.

6. Connect the two 10 AWG wires.

7. Connect the coiled wire "A1". Connect the coiled wire "A2".
