Fan Monitor PWA (Flywheel Cabinet)

Usage:

UPS 250 APZ

Description

Illustration 1g01277509
(1) Fan Monitor Board

The Fan Monitor Board (FAN) (1) provides power to the cabinet for the Flywheel. Also, the Fan Monitor board (1) monitors the status of the six cooling fans. The board (1) also provides power for the six cooling fans in the cabinet for the Flywheel. The cooling fans are located on the top of the system. Each fan has a status bit that is sent to the system controller.

In an MMS flywheel cabinet, the Fan Monitor board monitors the following components:

  • power supplies

  • front panel (EPO)

  • keyswitch (controls)

Removal Procedure

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

NOTICE

Electrostatic discharge can damage integrated circuits or semiconductors if you touch bus connector pins. When not in use, keep the module in its static-shield bag. Follow these guidelines when you handle any module:

Touch a grounded object to discharge static potential.

Wear an approved wrist-strap grounding device.

Do not touch the bus connector or connector pins.

Do not touch circuit components inside the module.

If available, use a static-safe work station.

  1. Disconnect all connectors. Refer to Illustration 2. Verify each label for each connector for subsequent installation.

  2. Disconnect the four white plastic standoffs that connect the board (1) to the left panel.

Note: The Fan Monitor board (1) must be removed from the standoffs without bending the board (1).

  3. Compress the head of each standoff so that the board (1) is not locked, but the board (1) is still attached to the standoff.

  4. Remove the board (1) from all standoffs at the same time.
