The board for the user interface (UIF) (2) provides the interface to the front LCD panel. The UIF (2) sends system telemetry and data about the state of the system to the display panel. The board (2) also sends status signals of the EPO switch and the key switch back to the system controller.

In SMS systems, the board (2) is always present. The board (2) is present in Pre-2.4 hardware systems. The board (2) is not present in 2.4+ hardware systems.

Removal Procedure

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Flywheel Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

1. Disconnect all connectors. Verify each label on the connector. Verify the labeling on the connector with the location of the connector. Refer to Illustration 2.

2. Remove the four nuts (3) that connect the board (2) to the door. Remove the user interface board. Refer to Illustration 3.

Installation Procedure

1. Attach the board (2) to the spacers with the four nuts (3).

2. Connect the wire connectors into the correct connectors on the board (2). Verify the labeling of the connectors with the location of the connectors.
