Snubber Assembly

There are two Snubber Assemblies that are connected between the input of each static switch and output of each static switch. The assemblies are arranged across the input and output in opposing orientations.
The snubber assemblies prevent a false turn on of the Static Switch caused by voltage transients.
Removal
- Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Static Switch Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.
- Cut the tie wrap that holds the Snubber Assembly to the clear shield.
- Remove the two bolts that connect the ends of the Snubber Assembly to the input and output bus bars of the static switch.

- Remove the Snubber Assembly.
Installation
- Place the Snubber Assembly in position as shown in Illustration 2.
- Attach the lugs of the snubber caps to the input and output power connectors using one bolt on each connector.
Refer to Illustration 3 for hardware installation.

- Attach the Snubber Assembly to the clear shield with a new tie wrap so that the Snubber Assembly is not touching the bus bars.
