The Generator Set Module (GSM) Start Option adds one or two breakers to the left panel of the Input/Output Cabinet. The breakers are located at the top of the panel on the left side of the cabinet. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR7654, "General Information (Input/Output Cabinet)" for the breaker location.
The Generator Set Module Start Option allows the UPS to control and start external generator sets in cases where utility power is lost.
The circuit breakers are 480VAC, 40A breakers.
Removal
- Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Input/Output Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.
- Disconnect the six wires leading to and from the circuit breaker. Use a flat head screwdriver with a small blade to remove the wires. Run the wires through the three top holes and three bottom holes on the front of the breaker. The labels on the wires indicate the location for the wire. Verify the labels on the wires.
- Remove the four cross tip screws on the front of the breaker that secure the breaker to the rear of the cabinet. There are two screws at the top of the breaker and two screws at the bottom of the breaker.
Refer to Illustration 2 for screw locations.
