MOV Circuit Breaker, Rear Panel (1) MOV Surge Protector (2) MOV Circuit Breaker (K10) (3) Wire Terminal |
The MOV Circuit Breaker (K10) is located on the back panel of the Input/Output cabinet beneath the input cable landings.
The MOV Circuit Breaker is a 480V 30A breaker that monitors input current and will trip if the MOV Surge Protector pulls more than 30A, thus protecting the MOV.
If the MOV Circuit Breaker trips, the breaker will send a signal to the General Purpose Interface Board on the J7 connector in the Static Switch cabinet. There is no action taken from this signal.
Removal
- Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (Input/Output Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.
- Disconnect wires leading to and from the circuit breaker.
The locations of the wires are labeled. Verify the labels on the cables for subsequent reinstallation. The wires are removed by inserting, through the front of the breaker, a small flat head screwdriver and unscrewing the wire terminals located at the top and bottom of the breaker. Refer to Illustration 4.
