Zig Zag Thyristor (MMS System Cabinet)

The Zig Zag Thyristor (Q4) (1) is located on the lower right panel in 4-wire installations only. Refer to Illustration 1.
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
- Disconnect the cables from the Thyristor (1). Verify the labeling of the cables for subsequent installation.
- Remove the bolts that hold the Thyristor (1) to the fuse "F18" (2).
- Remove the four screws that hold the Thyristor (1) to the right panel.
- Remove the Thyristor (1) from the right panel.
- Attach the Thyristor (1) to the lower right panel with four screws.
- Attach the bolt that connects the Thyristor (1) to the fuse "F18" (2).
- Attach the cables to the Thyristor (1). Verify the labeling of the cables with the location of the cables.
