(1) System I/O daughter board

The system I/O daughter board (1) provides an isolation barrier and a redundant barrier. The barrier is between the controller and all of the communications ports that are used by the system for internal and external communications to the system. The following ports reside on the system I/O daughter board: COM RS-232/RS-485, UPSNet and Remote Panel. The COM RS-232/RS-485 port is a spare port that is unused and unsupported. The UPSNet is a redundant internal communication port that works with the UPSNet port on the System Input/Output Board. If a Remote Panel is installed on the system, the remote panel will be connected to this dedicated port.

Removal Procedure

Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.

1. Disconnect all connectors. Refer to Illustration 2. Verify each labeling on the connector with the location of the wire. Verify each label on each connector.

2. Disconnect the ground screw at the connector "J6".

3. Disconnect the six white plastic standoffs that connect the board (1) to the left panel.

   Note: The board (1) must be removed from the standoffs without bending the board (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Position the board (1) in the cabinet over the six white standoffs that are connected to the left panel.

2. Push the board (1) onto all the standoffs simultaneously. Verify that all standoffs are locked in place.

3. Connect the ground screw at the "J6" connector.

4. Connect the wire connectors into the correct connectors on the board (1). Check the labels on each connector for proper placement. Refer to Illustration 2.
