Transformer (T12 to T16 )

Usage:

ES12F CZE

Version 1 Hardware

There are four control transformers located in the 4-Wire Transformer cabinet.

Two of the transformers (T12 and T13) are located on the left panel and two of the transformers (T14 and T15) are located on the right panel.

Transformers T12, T13, and T14 are used to operate the three fans in the cabinet.

Transformer T15 is used to power the 4-Wire Thermal Switch Monitor Board located on the fan plenum shield.

The thermistors for T12 to T15 are located on the bottom side of the transformer, as installed. All thermistors are connected to the H1 and to the H2 or COM connectors of the transformer. The thermistors limit the in-rush current on power-up.

Version 2 Hardware

There are five control transformers located in the 4-Wire Transformer cabinet.

The transformers are located along the top rail of the cabinet in the front.

Transformers T12, T13, T14, and T16 are used to operate the four fans in the cabinet.

Transformer T15 is used to power the 4-Wire Thermal Switch Monitor Board located on the top component panel.

The thermistors for T12 to T16 are located on the top of the transformer, as installed. All thermistors are connected to the H1 and to the H2 or COM connectors of the transformer. The thermistors limit the inrush current on power up.

(6) Thermistor

  1. Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (4 Wire Transformer Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.

  1. Loosen the two screws and pull the thermistor (6) free of the terminal block. Each thermistor (6) is attached by two screws to the transformer terminal block. One to the H1 connector and one to the COM, or H2 connector.

Thermistor Installation

  1. Loosen the screw of the H1 connector and the COM or unlabeled connector next to it.

  1. Place one lead of the thermistor (6) into the H1 connector and place one lead into the COM or H2 connector.

  1. Tighten the screws to attach the thermistor (6) firmly.

Transformer Removal

    NOTICE

The transformers are heavy. Exercise caution when removing the last bolt so the transformer does not fall and damage components.

  1. Perform steps in the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (4 Wire Transformer Cabinet)" in order to de-energize the system and gain access to internal components.

  1. Remove all four wires or wire pairs from the transformer by loosening the screws holding the wires in the terminal block.

  1. Remove the 4 hex screws at the corners that hold the transformer to the panel. Use a 76 mm (3/16 inch) hex key.

Transformer Installation

  1. Situate the transformer in position on the panel.

  1. Attach the transformer using 4 hex bolts to the rear panel. Use a 76 mm (3/16 inch) hex key.

  1. Connect the four wires or wire pairs to the transformer. Each wires location is labeled.

Refer to Illustration 4 for hardware version 1 wire connections.

Refer to Illustration 5 for hardware version 2 wire connections.
