(1) Parallel cabinet interface board |
The parallel cabinet interface board (PCI) (1) is located on the left panel in the MMS cabinet.
This board (1) acts as a switch hub for the following connections:
- RS-232
- Modem connections that are in MMU cabinets
Lines for the modem will be routed to the PCI. RS-232 lines that are for each MMU cabinet in the system will be routed to the PCI. Rotary switches that are located on the PCI can then be used to select the MMU cabinet that will be accessed.
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Pre-removal Steps (MMS System Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
- Disconnect all connectors. Refer to Illustration 2. Verify each labeling on the connector with the location of the wire. Verify each label on each connector.
- Disconnect the four white plastic standoffs that connect the board (1) to the left panel.
Note: The board (1) must be removed from the standoffs without bending the board (1).
