When servicing or repairing electric power generation equipment:

Refer to Steps 1a through 1g.
- Connect a PC to the parallel cabinet interface board that is located in the system cabinet.
- Rotate the switch on the parallel interface cabinet to the corresponding MMU.
- Run the UPSView software by double clicking the UPSView icon on your PC desktop.
- Select the "Enter Password" menu option in order to view the "Enter User Name" and the "Password" dialog box.
- Enter a valid "User Name". Enter a valid "Password". Refer to Illustration 2.
- Depress the "<Ctrl><X>" keys in order to bring the flywheel to zero RPM.
- The system will prompt you to confirm the option. Depress "<Y>" key.
Note: Repeat this procedure for each flywheel.
Note: The procedure is only available once during a 24 hour period.
Note: A minimum of 15 minutes is required to lower the speed of the flywheel to 0 RPM.

Verify that the equipment is not energized before performing any maintenance. This work must be performed by trained personnel with correct tools and procedures. |
When servicing or repairing electric power generation equipment: Make sure the unit is off-line (disconnected from utility and/or other generators power service), and either locked out or tagged DO NOT OPERATE. Remove all fuses. |
- Open the output isolation switch that is located on the I/O cabinet.
- Open the output isolation switches that are located in the system cabinet for the appropriate MMU.
- Open the input isolation switches that are located in the system cabinet for the appropriate MMU.
- Remove facility power from the system input bus.
- Open the maintenance bypass switch that is located in the I/O cabinet.
- Remove facility power from the bypass input bus.
