A new line of service brake accumulators is now available for machines that perform work in cold regions. The new accumulators were designed in order to hold nitrogen pressure more effectively in extreme cold temperatures. The new accumulators consist of a different piston material, a different seal material, and higher seal compression in order to maintain sealing integrity during temperature changes and long exposure to extreme cold.
Note: The new accumulators and seal kits are intended only for applications in extreme cold regions. You should not use the new accumulators if the ambient temperature does not fall below −23 °C (−10 °F). Do not install the new, cold temperature seal kits in the standard accumulators. The seal material that is used in the cold temperature accumulators and in the seal kits is not compatible with BIO oils. Use only mineral based oils or compatible arctic synthetic oils in the machine's hydraulic system.
The cold temperature accumulators are compatible to all machines that are equipped with the standard accumulator. Use the same dry nitrogen precharge pressure that is specified for the machine that is being serviced.
