Start By:

  1. Remove the speed sensor for the front wheel assist. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Speed Sensor for the Front Wheel Assist (Transmission) - Remove".


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Remove the guard.

  1. Remove tube assemblies (4). Disconnect harness assembly (1). Remove bolts (3) and modulating control valve (2) .

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to clutch assembly (5). The weight of clutch assembly (5) is approximately 70 kg (150 lb). Remove bolts (6) and clutch assembly (5). Remove O-ring (7) .
