Note: In multiple flywheel systems (MMS), an individual MMU can to be in bypass (off-line) without the system being in bypass. If the remaining MMU's are not overloaded, the system will stay on-line.

If the UPS status is not on-line or if the UPS status is not discharge, the load will be protected during a utility outage.
If the UPS status is AVR or if the UPS status is bypass, the load will be powered but not protected from a utility outage.
If the UPS status is shut down, the load will not have power for a certain amount of time regardless of the utility source.
