Air Inlet Cover - Remove and Install

- Disconnect the battery. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Battery or Battery Cable - Disconnect".

Illustration 1 g01266071 - Disconnect harness assembly (1). Remove nut (2) and position bracket (3) out of the way. Remove nut (4) and remove bracket (5). Disconnect cable assembly (8). Remove nuts (6) and position solenoid bracket (7) out of the way.

Illustration 2 g01266073 - Remove stud (9) and bracket (10). Remove remaining studs (11). Remove air inlet elbow (12).

Illustration 4 g01266122 - Remove bolts (15) and remove heater element (16). Repeat for the remaining heater element.

Illustration 5 g01266123 - Disconnect tube assembly (17). Disconnect harness assembly (18). Remove bolts and studs (20). Remove air inlet cover (19).

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Apply Tooling (A) in order to cover the joint face of air inlet cover (19). Spread uniformly across air inlet cover (19). Air inlet cover (19) must be installed and tightened within ten minutes of applying Tooling (A).
- Install air inlet cover (19). Install bolts and studs (20). Connect harness assembly (18). Connect tube assembly (17).

Illustration 9 g01266073 - Apply Tooling (B) in order to cover the joint face of air inlet elbow (12). Spread uniformly across air inlet elbow (12). Air inlet elbow (12) must be installed and tightened within ten minutes of applying Tooling (B).
- Install air inlet elbow (12). Install studs (11). Install bracket (10) and stud (9).

Illustration 10 g01266071 - Position solenoid bracket (7) and install nuts (6). Connect cable assembly (8). Install bracket (5) and nut (4). Position bracket (3) and install nut (2). Connect harness assembly (1).
- Connect the battery. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Battery or Battery Cable - Connect".
