The current replacement water pump for the 3408 engine and the 3412 engine use a tapered roller bearing that is referenced in Engine News, SEBD9221, "Jacket Water Pumps Now Include New Tapered Roller Bearings". The 0R-8801 Water Pump Gp and the 0R-8802 Water Pump Gp must use the 117-9712 Drive Idler Shaft due to the lubrication requirements. If either the 0R-8801 Water Pump Gp or the 0R-8802 Water Pump Gp is installed on a older engine that does not have the 117-9712 Drive Idler Shaft, the water pump will fail and the engine will be damaged. The remanufactured parts do not have any warnings or notices in the box about these needed changes.
