Torque Converter Oil Temperature Sensor

Illustration 2g01234784

Torque Converter Oil Temperature

Torque Converter Oil Temperature Sensor - The torque converter oil temperature sensor is a temperature sensor with a range from −40 °C to 120 °C (−40 °F to 248 °F). The sensor is an analog sensor that outputs a voltage of .5 volts to 4.5 volts. The voltage output increases as the temperature increases. The sensor signals the engine ECM.

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor - The engine coolant temperature sensor is a temperature sensor with a range from −40 °C to 150 °C (−40 °F to 302 °F). The sensor is an analog sensor that outputs a voltage of .2 volts to 4.9 volts. The voltage output increases as the temperature increases. The sensor signals the engine ECM.

Engine Speed Sensor

Engine Speed Sensor - The engine speed sensor is a passive sensor. The sensor is an frequency sensor that generates an AC signal. The signal is directly proportional to the rotational speed of the gear teeth. The frequency increases as the gear speed increases. The sensor signals the engine ECM.

Fuel Level Sensor

Fuel Level Sensor - The fuel level sensor is a resistive sensor with a range from 28Ω to 250Ω. When the float is at the empty position, the resistance is approximately 250Ω. The resistance decreases as the float level increases. The sensor signals the engine ECM.

Fuel Pressure Sensor

Fuel Pressure Sensor - The fuel pressure sensor is a pressure sensor with a range from 0 kPa to 1135 kPa (0 psi to 165 psi). The sensor is an analog sensor that outputs a voltage near 0 volts to 5 volts. The voltage output increases as the pressure increases. The output voltage can be calculated by using the following formula: Vout = Vsupply (5 volts) x ([Pressure (kPa) * 0.00087071] + 0.0118). The sensor signals the engine ECM.

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor

Engine Oil Pressure Sensor - The engine oil pressure sensor is a pressure sensor with a range from 0 kPa to 1135 kPa (0 psi to 165 psi).

Hydraulic Oil Temperature Sensor

Hydraulic Oil Temperature Sensor - The hydraulic oil temperature sensor is a function of the machine ECM that indicates the temperature of the hydraulic oil.

Switches

Service Mode Switch

Illustration 3g01242277

Service Mode Switch - The service mode switch puts the machine in service mode. The service mode of the Instrument Cluster allows service personnel to see the actual values and readings of certain components on the machine. Also, the service mode shows the faults that were detected by the machine ECM. The service mode of the Instrument Cluster allows service personnel to troubleshoot the faults that were detected by the machine ECM. While the Instrument Cluster is in the service mode, the diagnostic code for any detected fault of the machine electronic control system is shown in the digital display area of the Instrument Cluster.

Key Start Switch

Illustration 4g01222031

Key Start Switch - The key start switch is an input of the machine electronic control module (ECM). The key start switch informs the machine ECM of an attempt to start the engine. The machine ECM then initiates the neutral start function. During normal machine operation, the start terminal of the key start switch is open. When the key start switch is turned to the START position, the start terminal closes to the +battery and the +battery voltage is present at connector contact J2-1 of the machine ECM. When all starting conditions are satisfied, the machine ECM sends a +battery signal to the connector contact J2-7 for the start relay and engine cranking begins. When the key start switch is in the ON position, a +battery signal is sent to connector contact J1-1. This activates the machine ECM.

Lockup Clutch Switch

Illustration 5g01242277

Lockup Clutch Switch - The lockup switch is located on the right side of the dash panel. Pressing this switch will enable the torque converter lockup clutch. When the output speed of the transmission is in the correct speed range, the ECM will engage the lockup clutch.

Differential Lock Control Switch

Illustration 6g01242279

When the differential lock switch is in the ON position, the differential lock solenoid valve is activated by the machine ECM. An indicator light is flashing on the panel of the Instrument Cluster, when the differential locks are engaged. The machine ECM will engage the differential locks according to the ground speed of the machine. The differential locks can be activated, while the transmission direction switch is in NEUTRAL position. The differential locks can be activated in any FORWARD speed, or REVERSE speed.

When the differential lock solenoid valve is energized, hydraulic oil flows through the differential lock solenoid valve to the front differential lock and the rear differential lock. The hydraulic oil pressure is 2585 ± 140 kPa (375 ± 20 psi).

While the differential locks are engaged, the accumulator provides supplemental pressure to the differential locks.

When the differential lock switch is in the OFF position, the hydraulic oil flows through the differential lock solenoid valve to the hydraulic tank.

Transmission Filter Bypass

Transmission Filter Bypass - The switch for the transmission filter bypass is activated when the transmission filter is being bypassed. The switch is a pressure switch that is activated when the pressure reaches 138 ± 28 kPa (20 ± 4 psi). The switch deactivates at 89 ± 20 kPa (13 ± 2.9 psi). The switch signals the engine ECM.

Brake Accumulator Pressure Switch

Brake Accumulator Pressure Switch - The brake accumulator pressure switch is a pressure switch that indicates low oil pressure in the brake system. The switch signals the engine ECM.

Secondary Steering Pressure Switch

Secondary Steering Pressure Switch - The secondary steering pressure switch is a pressure switch that is activated when the pressure reaches a maximum of 1200 kPa (174 psi). The switch deactivates at 700 ± 100 kPa (102 ± 15 psi). The switch signals the machine ECM.

Primary Steering Pressure Switch

Primary Steering Pressure Switch - The primary steering pressure switch is a pressure switch that indicates low oil pressure in the primary steering system. The switch signals the machine ECM.

Parking Brake Switch

Parking Brake Switch - The parking brake switch is a microswitch that is activated when the parking brake lever is engaged. The switch has a set of normally open contacts and normally closed contacts. The switch signals the machine ECM.

Transmission Direction Control Switch

Transmission Direction Control Switch - The transmission control lever contains switches that monitor the following positions: First gear, Second gear, Third gear, Fourth gear, Neutral, Forward, and Reverse. The switches signal the machine ECM.
