Certain wheel rims can crack around the inner circle when the machines are used in heavy-duty applications and when foam-filled tires are used. For either situation, adding weld in the areas that are indicated in Illustration 1 can prevent cracking of the rim.

Note: This action is not for repairing base metal fatigue cracks in the wheel rims.

Note: The added welds should be a 5 mm (0.19 inch) fillet weld with 1.5 mm (0.06 inch) penetration.

Note: Welding must be accomplished without a mounted tire on the rim.
