(1) The metal band is crimped on the hose assembly. |
Dealers should immediately remove certain 6D-7726 Hose Assemblies from inventory. Caterpillar was recently notified of a problem with the hose assemblies. There is the potential for failure of the hose assemblies. The failures could cause serious injury or property damage. Disposition and replacement information for the hose assemblies is provided in Service Letter, SEBE9382-00, "Product Improvement Program for Removing Certain 6D-7726 Hose Assemblies From Dealers' Service Tools".
Inspect any hose assemblies with metal bands on the hose. If the metal band has a date from November 1, 2004 through June 1, 2005, remove the hose assembly from inventory. Return the band according to the instructions in the Service Letter. Hose assemblies that do not have the bands are not subject to the action. Most of the hose assemblies are components of service tools. The following chart identifies the tool groups that include one or more 6D-7726 Hose Assemblies.
