The retractable seat-mounted seatbelt in Caterpillar machines can be replaced or extended for larger operators. The current standard seat-mounted seatbelts are between 1372 mm (54 inches) and 1422 mm (56 inches) long. If necessary, the current standard seat-mounted seatbelts can be replaced with a non-retractor 8Y-4035 Seat Belt Gp that is 2362 mm (93 inches) long. On older machines where Sister Hooks are used to anchor the seat belt to the ROPS (not the seat), a maximum of two 8V-1144 Tether Belts can be used with either the standard machine belt or the 8Y-4035 Seat Belt Gp .

    Installation

To add an 8V-1144 Tether Belt, use a 5V-5262 Shoulder Bolt and a 8S-0934 Flange Locknut. The sister hook in the seat belt will fasten to either the sister hook or delta bracket of the tether belt.

For installations where a shoulder bolt is used to fasten the seat belt directly to the frame, the sister hook of the tether belt must be fastened to the sister hook of the seat belt with a 5V-5262 Shoulder Bolt and a 8S-0934 Flange Locknut .

For installations where an eye bolt is used to attach the seat belt to the frame, the sister hook of the seat belt must be fastened to the delta bracket end of the tether belt. This will permit the sister hook of the tether belt to fasten to the eye bolt in the frame.
