Display Picture Adjustment - Select Display Settings

Usage:

Single Camera System

Ensure that the display is not in the "Standby" mode.

Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Display Description" for information on the operation of the buttons for the display.

Note: If the single camera system can be placed in manual mode, notify your Caterpillar service personnel.

Note: If the display does a sequence to the next group of stored settings, this may alter the appearance of the view or the orientation of the camera view.

Adjustment for Brightness

To adjust the brightness, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the button for adjusting the brightness (7) to enable the adjustment for brightness. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for adjusting the brightness will illuminate to indicate that you have entered the mode for adjusting the brightness.

  2. Press the "Minus" button (9) or the "Plus" button (10) to adjust the brightness level.

  3. Press any other button on the display to exit the mode for adjusting the brightness. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of button for adjusting the brightness will turn OFF.

The display may appear white in an area that is lighted if the following conditions exist:

  • The level for brightness is high.

  • The automatic brightness is not enabled.

Adjustment for Contrast

To adjust the contrast, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the button for adjusting the contrast (6) to enable adjustment for contrast. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for adjusting the contrast will illuminate to indicate that you have entered the mode for adjusting the contrast.

  2. Press the "Minus" button (9) or the "Plus" button (10) to adjust the contrast level.

  3. Press any other button on the display to exit the mode for adjusting the contrast. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for adjusting the contrast will turn OFF.

Automatic Brightness ON/OFF

To enable the option for automatic brightness, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the button for automatic brightness (5). The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for automatic brightness will illuminate to indicate that the option for auto brightness or the dimming option is enabled.

  2. Press the button for automatic brightness again to disable the option for automatic brightness. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for automatic brightness will turn off to indicate that the option for automatic brightness or the dimming option is disabled.

Standby ON/OFF

To enable the Standby ON/OFF option, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the standby button (11) to enable standby. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for the standby option will illuminate to indicate that standby is enabled. The display should go dark. The display will remain dark until an input for the system is activated.

  2. Press the standby button again to disable the standby option. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for the standby option will turn OFF. The display will remain in the ON position.

Multiple Camera System

------ WARNING! ------

In MANUAL mode, camera views are not activated based on machine operation, therefore, the view that is displayed may not be the view that is normally shown. AUTOMATIC mode is recommended for machine operation in order to display the intended view for machine operation.


Note: The display can store settings for as many as three cameras.

Brightness and contrast for the picture of each camera can be individually adjusted. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Display Description" for information on the operation of the buttons for the display.

To adjust the settings for a multiple camera system, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the camera select button (4) to activate manual mode. Look at the LED lights for the camera select option (1) to see the camera that is active. The camera view that is active will be the view that is shown on the display.

  2. Adjust the display settings for the camera view that is active.

  3. Press the camera select button again to perform a scroll to the next camera view. The next camera select LED will illuminate. The camera view that is active will be the view that is shown on the display.

  4. Adjust the display settings for the camera view that is active.

  5. Press the camera select button again to perform a scroll to the next camera view. The next camera select LED will illuminate. The camera view that is active will be the view that is shown on the display.

  6. Adjust the display settings for the camera view that is active.

  7. After brightness and contrast for the display has been adjusted for all three cameras, press and hold the camera select button for two seconds to return to "Automatic" mode.

    Note: Once the settings for the camera are adjusted, the current settings will be stored in the memory of the display. Even if power is removed, the current settings will be retained in the memory for the display. An option is not available to restore the factory defaults of the display for the settings for the camera.

Adjustment for Brightness

To adjust the brightness, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the button for adjusting the brightness (7) to enable adjusting the brightness. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for adjusting the brightness will illuminate to indicate that you have entered the mode for adjusting the brightness.

  2. Press the "Minus" button (9) or the "Plus" button (10) to adjust the brightness level.

  3. Press any other button on the display to exit the mode for adjusting the brightness. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of button for adjusting the brightness will turn OFF.

  2. Press the "Minus" button (9) or the "Plus" button (10) to adjust the contrast level.

  3. Press any other button on the display to exit the mode for adjusting the contrast. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for adjusting the contrast will turn OFF.

Manual Camera Selection for Multiple Camera Installations

To enter the manual mode, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the camera select button (4). The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for camera select will blink to indicate that you are in the manual mode. The view from the active camera will be displayed.

  2. Press the camera select button again to perform a switch to the next active camera.

  3. Press the camera select button again to perform a switch to the next active camera.

  4. Press and hold the camera select button (4) for 2 seconds to return to the auto mode. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for camera select will turn OFF.

Automatic Brightness ON/OFF

To enable the option for automatic brightness, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the button for automatic brightness (5). The "RED" LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for automatic brightness will illuminate to indicate that the automatic brightness or dimming option is enabled.

  2. Press the button for automatic brightness again to disable the option for automatic brightness. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for automatic brightness will turn off to indicate that the option for automatic brightness or the dimming option is disabled.

Standby ON/OFF

To enable the Standby ON/OFF option, perform the following procedure:

  1. Press the standby button (11) to enable standby. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for the standby option will illuminate to indicate that standby is enabled. The display should go dark. The display will remain dark until an input for the system is activated.

  2. Press the standby button again to disable the standby option. The red LED light that is above the button and to the right of the button for the standby option will turn OFF. The display will remain in the ON position.
