Engine Oil Filter Base - Disassemble
Start By:
- Remove the engine oil filter base and the oil cooler. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Filter Base - Remove".

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Remove bolts (1), washers (2), cover (3), and gasket (4) from oil filter base assembly (7).
- Remove spring (5) and plunger (6) from oil filter base (7).
- Remove valve (8) from oil filter base (7).

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force. |
