Assembly Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Note: Apply a thin coat of hydraulic oil to all internal surfaces.

1. Install seals and backup rings (8) into housing (2) .

2. Install seal (1A) onto shaft (1) .

3. Install shaft (1) in housing (2). Be careful not to damage any of the seals or backup rings during installation.

4. Install seal (3) and spacer (4) .

5. Install retaining ring (5) .

6. Install flange (6) and flange mounting bolts (7). Tighten the flange mounting bolts to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).

End By: Install the swivel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swivel - Install".
