Typical crankshaft

(1) Tighten the bolts of the holder for the main bearing to the following torque. ... 52 N·m (38.3 lb ft)

(2) Thrust washers

Standard thickness ... 2.95 to 3.00 mm (0.1161 to 0.1181 inch)

Service limit ... 2.80 mm (0.1102 inch)

(3) Top thrust washer

Ensure that the oil grooves of all of the thrust washers are toward the crankshaft.

(4) Tighten the retaining bolts for the crankshaft to the following torque. ... 52 N·m (38.3 lb ft)

(5) Tighten the allen head screws to the following torque. ... 27 N·m (19.9 lb ft)

Crankshaft end play

Crankshaft end play ... 0.10 to 0.40 mm (0.0040 to 0.0160 inch)

Service limit (both models) ... 0.50 mm (0.0197 inch)

Note: If the crankshaft end play exceeds the service limit, check the thrust washers for wear.
