General Information (Getting Started)

This section explains the installation procedure for the UPS View software.

Operating System Requirements

UPS View requires a PC running under one of the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows 98

  • Microsoft Windows 2000

  • Microsoft Windows ME

  • Microsoft Windows NT 4.0

  • Microsoft Windows XP

  • Microsoft Windows 7

Equipment Requirements

UPS View also requires the following:

  • PC with no less than a 200 MHz CPU

  • 32 megabyte of RAM

  • 5 MB free hard drive space

The following items are optional:

  • A modem

  • An ethernet card

  • RS-232 or RS-485 cable

Note: The RS-232 cable and the RS-485 cable are needed when the network connection and/or the modem connection is not available.

Installing UPS View

The following instructions explain the installation and the setup that is required for monitoring and/or controlling your UPS with UPS View.

Note: To set up UPS View correctly in the Windows XP® environment, an appropriate firewall must be set up. This environment must assure that the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) packets are enabled.

  1. Insert the disk for the installation of the software into the PC.

  2. Run "UPS View.exe".

  3. Click on the "NEXT" button.

  4. Read the license agreement.

  5. Click on the "YES" button.

  6. Identify the desired location for the files.

  7. Click on the "FINISH" button.
