(1) Menu Bar
(2) Text Window (3) Status Tiles |
The "Menu Bar" provides selections which allow the user to choose various pull down menus. These menus allow the user to perform different tasks, make system adjustments, and control the UPS.
Illustration 2 | g01147927 |
Note: "Log On" may replace "Enter Password" on the "Menu Bar" for certain systems.
Notice that some selections are in black text while other settings are "grayed out". Grayed out text indicates that you can not select those particular functions. Limitations on hardware configuration or your password level may be reasons for not being able to choose a grayed out selection. Refer to illustration 3.

Explanations will be given in later sections of this manual for all of the selections that are in each "Menu Bar" choice. This section will provide explanations for the features that are found in the UPS View software screen.

Partial Text Window |
Text messages that are shown in the "Text Window" of the UPS View software contain system information indicating various operational conditions. Information is displayed in green, yellow, or red text to indicate condition importance.
Green text is shown during normal system operation and indicates normal operating states or state changes. Green text indicates that there are no notices or alarms that need attention.
Yellow text display information indicates important system information and is a notice only. Yellow text messages indicate an important system condition that is not serious enough to cause a system shutdown.
Note: Upon occurrence of yellow text display, a buzzer will sound that gives a notice of a system condition that may require attention.
Red text display information is an alarm. Red text display information shows the nature of the system fault. If this information is not acted upon, then the system will automatically shut down if the fault is serious.
Note: Upon occurrence of red text display, a buzzer will sound that gives a notice of a fault in the system .

The "Telemetry" window is the lower portion of the screen in the UPS View software. This window contains tiles that display the information channels that are monitored by the UPS View software.
Tiles show fluctuations in system telemetry values. The telemetry information includes, but is not limited to the following:
- temperatures
- voltages
- currents
- frequencies
- speeds
Floating-point tile information can be displayed in three ways:
- numeric only
- bar graph with numeric information
- line graph with bar graph and numeric information
Telemetry values are displayed in expandable formats that make it easy to interpret specific data.

Numeric Tile |
A numeric tile shows up-to-date telemetry values. The color of the data indicates the status of that specific telemetry channel. Green shows the telemetry is OK, yellow is a notice condition, and red is an alarm condition.
Note: The telemetry values are updated two times per second.

(1) Upper Left Button
(2) Upper Right Button |
Select the upper left button to expand a numeric tile into a bar graph. Refer to illustration 7 callout (1). The bar graph will display the same telemetry values as the numeric tile, but in a vertical bar graph format. To return to the numeric tile, select the upper left button again.
Illustration 8 | g01123134 |
Open a line graph by clicking the upper right-hand button. Refer to illustration 7 callout (2). The line and bar graphs are combined in the expanded tile. The line graph displays 2 minutes of parameter history. All line graphs are accessible to the crosshairs. Refer to "Crosshair Tool" section.
Illustration 9 | g01123136 |
Expanded three phase tiles are identical to floating point tiles, except that all three phases of the telemetry channel are displayed in one tile. The display is sequentially progressing from A-B, B-C, and C-A for both numeric and bar graphs.

Status Tiles display the status of the various systems via colored status lights. Status light color indicates the following:
Green - the function is ON or available.
Red - the function is OFF or unavailable.
Click on the square in the top left corner of the tile to display the information as a line graph. Refer to illustration 10.
Note: There is no bar graph available for the Status Tiles.

Expanded Status Tile (1) Abbreviations (2) Colored Status Lights (3) Full Name |
Refer to illustration 11. Each "Status" tile has an abbreviation for various systems. The abbreviation, callout (1), is located below each of the status lights callout (2). The abbreviation correlates to the name of the status list. When the tile is expanded, the full name of the status list is displayed. The names are located to the left of the graph callout (3).
Illustration 12 | g01153550 |
Numeric tiles display integer telemetry stored in the UPS. These telemetry channels are usually counters, such as the discharge counter.
Illustration 13 | g01123147 |
The text tile displays system information such as:
- Mode
- Date
- Time
- State
Note: Bar or line graphs are not available for system mode, date, time, and state tiles.
Use the crosshair tool to examine information displayed in an expanded tile. The crosshair shows the parameter value and the time that value occurred.
Illustration 14 | g01153554 |
The crosshair position determines the reading received at a specific position in a specific moment in time. This feature allows you to track changes that have taken place in the system over time or any particular moment.

(1) Crosshairs |
To use the crosshair tool, perform the following:
- Move the cursor into a tile line graph.
- Left mouse click to activate the crosshairs.
- Move the crosshair horizontally within the tile with the mouse or the arrow keys.
Note: When the crosshairs are in use, they appear in all tiles expanded to line graphs. Refer to Illustration 14.
Note: The bar graph is not available when crosshairs are used in the graphs.
By placing the crosshair on a bar graph, the bar graph changes to a time-based representation of system information.
Note: The crosshair can be Canceled by clicking the right square in the top left tile corner or by moving the crosshair out of the window.
