Description Of Change: Hardened inserts are now available for the bucket pin bores. The hardened inserts will reduce the wear of the bucket pin bores in abrasive applications which will improve the service life of the pin bores.

Adaptable To: The following table lists the part numbers for the new inserts. The corresponding dimensions for the bucket pin bores are also listed in the following table.

243-3712	Bushing (Top Bucket Pin Bore)	140 ± 0.05 mm (5.512 ± 0.002 inch)

Note: Freeze both 251-6754 Bushing and 243-3712 Bushing before installation into the pin bores.

Note: The inserts should be pressed into the bore so that the insert is flush with the outer face of the hinge plates. The inserts should not protrude beyond the inside face of the hinge plate.

This change is adaptable to the following Large Wheel Loaders.

• 988H (S/N: BXY1-UP)
