Location of the Hydraulic Fan Motor |
The hydraulic fan motor is located between the radiator and the engine at the rear of the machine. The hydraulic fan motor is a fixed displacement piston motor. The hydraulic fan motor turns the fan that cools the oil that passes through the hydraulic oil cooler. The hydraulic fan motor for the 826H Landfill Compactor can run in the reverse direction in order to clean debris from the fan. The engine coolant that passes through the radiator is also cooled by the hydraulic fan system.

Pressurized oil from the hydraulic fan pump flows into inlet port (2) of the hydraulic fan motor. The hydraulic oil escapes from the hydraulic fan motor by way of outlet (1).

The pressurized oil enters the hydraulic fan motor by way of inlet port (2). The hydraulic oil flows by the inlet passage of valve plate (4) and into cylinder barrel (6) to the piston. At that position of the cylinder barrel due to the angle of the swashplate, the piston (7) is fully entered into cylinder barrel (6). The pressure behind the piston forces the cylinder barrel to rotate. The piston is moving out of cylinder barrel (6) as cylinder barrel (6) is rotating. The hydraulic oil is trapped between valve plate (4) and piston (7) until cylinder barrel (6) rotates piston (7) over the outlet passage of valve plate (4). The fixed angle of swashplate (9) at that position causes piston (7) to be moving back to full travel into cylinder barrel (6). The hydraulic oil then flows out of the hydraulic motor by way of outlet port (1) into the hose for the hydraulic oil cooler.
