高/低压力开关 (10) 用来检测冷却回路中的高压和低压。
高压
当压缩机和膨胀阀间的压力异常升高时，高/低压力开关 (10) 通过切断压缩机电源保护回路。
低压
如果压缩机和膨胀阀间的系统压力异常下降，则表明制冷剂泄漏。 高/低压力开关 (10) 通过切断压缩机电源保护回路。 在制冷剂发生泄漏的同时也会损失压缩机油。 压力开关有助于防止压缩机由于缺少压缩机油而卡滞。
