通过使用"以太网选项"，卡特彼勒 UPS使得用户能够利用局域网通过因特网来监测系统。
- 网络监测需要静态分配给UPS的网际协议(IP)地址。
- 因特网监测需要将LAN与因特网连接起来。
电子邮件通知
"以太网连接"选项使得所有"注意"事件和所有"警报"事件的电子邮件信息可以一次发送给收件人名单中的所有用户。 电子邮件服务需要设置"远程通知"选项和连接到一个带有简单邮件传输协议电子邮件服务器(SMTP)的局域网(LAN)上。
电子邮件信息包含下述项目：
- UPS型号
- 序列号
- 实际位置
- 触发事件
