Installation Procedure

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

1. Install bolts (17). Tighten bolts (17) to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft). Remove Tooling (D). The weight of transmission control valve (18) is approximately 55 kg (120 lb).

   Note: Use Tooling (D) to balance transmission control valve (18).

2. Attach Tooling (C) and Tooling (D) to a suitable lifting device. Install transmission control valve (18). Install bolts (16). Tighten bolts (16) to a torque of 48 ± 4 N·m (35 ± 3 lb ft). Remove Tooling (C).

3. Slide tubes (15) toward the front of the machine.

4. Install plates (14) and install bolts (13).

5. Connect pins (11) to stems (12).

6. Slide couplings (10) to the front of the machine. Tighten nuts (9) to the original location.

7. Install flanges (4) and bolts (6).

8. Install switch (5).

9. Attach Tooling (B) to cover (3). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (B) and install cover (3). The weight of cover (3) is approximately 23 kg (50 lb).

10. Install Tooling (A) in order to align the bolt holes and support the cover. Connect harness assemblies (1). Install 24 bolts (2).

11. Remove Tooling (A) and install the remaining two bolts (2).

12. Fill the transmission with fluid. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Transmission and Differential Oil - Change".

1. Install the rear chassis support. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Rear Chassis Support - Install".
